Mastering the Mechanics: Grades 6-8
A collection of easy-to-use lessons that focus on grammar, spelling, punctuation, editing and use of conventions in writing. Each lesson follows a predictable pattern: a teacher-modeled lesson on day 1, followed by an experience with an unedited sample of student writing on day 2. On day 3, students apply the editing/conventions focus point in their own writing folders; day 4 centers on review and summation.
